- Proceed to login to the Admin center @ https://admin.microsoft.com/
- Click Users on the left and it will expand
- Then click Active users
- Find the user in the list and click their name
- A panel will expand on the right side of the web browser
- Just below the users name at the top is a "reset password" link
- Click the "reset password" link and chose the options you prefer
- If you want to reset the password manually and then provide it to the user leave the "Automatically create a password" box unchecked
- Type in the temporary password. It must meet the complexity and security defautls set for the tenant.
- Remember to use good password hygene. Never reuse a password that you have used on other web services
- Use Upper Case, Lower Case, Numbers, and Symbols
- Use a minimum of 12 characters is recommended
- It's best to always check the box "Require this user to change their password when they first sign in" so that they are the only one who knows the password to their account
- Once you have set the options you prefer click the "reset password" button at the bottom. You should receive a prompt noting that the password has been reset.
